Smart Infrastructure Investments to Keep Michigan Moving

Debbie knows that reliable and modern infrastructure is vital to Michigan’s economy, job creation, and our way of life.

Michigan businesses and families depend on reliable infrastructure, including roads and bridges, water and sewer systems, Great Lakes harbors and locks, and high-speed internet. Investing in these crucial resources creates good jobs here at home and keeps our economy moving.

Debbie’s legislation to authorize the building of a critical second large lock at the Soo Locks is included in a Senate bipartisan water resources bill moving through the Congress. And she’s successfully fought for additional investments in Michigan’s roads and bridges, including $97 million to rehabilitate Mound Road.

The bipartisan 2018 Farm Bill – which she coauthored and that passed the Senate on a historic 86-11 vote – makes investments in rural high-speed internet and rural water infrastructure that will help Michigan families and businesses access clean drinking water and address harmful contaminants like PFAS.
